You are invited to the third annual Raymond Dart Lecture with Professor Dean Falk, the Hale G. Smith Professor of Anthropology and a Distinguished Research Professor at Florida State University. Professor Falk will discuss the controversies surrounding Homo floresiensis and how new evidence has blazed the trail for reconsidering the "big picture" of human evolution.

Hackathon

Hackathon is 30 hours of creativity and collaboration where you can design and create your very own app.

During the Hackathon, students work in teams to build an app that would greatly improve student life. It takes all skills to develop an app: project management to guide the team, graphic design for the User Interface, comms, marketing, advertising or PR to present and persuade the judges, and of course, coding and app development skills too.

Science Trivia Challenge

As part of the 2019 National Science Week, the Griffith Science Education Alliance will host the STEM Trivia Challenges on Tuesday 13 August. Held across two age groups, with the teacher's competition running in conjunction with the senior student's competition, it's a fun-fueled event that gives everyone the chance to celebrate and demonstrate their STEM knowledge!
With brain-buster audience questions and great prize giveaways, this event is not to be missed!

Gold Coast Schools Science Competition

The 33nd annual Gold Coast Science Competition aims to raise the profile of STEM in our community and encourages students to demonstrate their STEM abilities by entering a project into one of five categories. The competition is the largest of its type in Queensland and the competition is fierce with over 500 entries received in 2018.
