MHIQ/HPS Research Development Seminars - The Three 'Rs' and the Ego-Depletion Saga: Research, Replication, Readjustment

Martin S. Hagger in his presentation will introduce the ego-depletion effect and associated theoretical perspectives and mechanistic explanations. He will describe the introduction of a meta-analysis that was conducted of published laboratory experiments testing the effect using the received approach to testing the effect. The analysis yielded a medium-sized ego depletion effect (d = 0.62) across studies with substantive variability.

MHIQ/GCORE Seminar: Targeting Recovery Neurobiology Mechanisms

Professor Teng will focus his presentation on discussing new data of antioxidant efficacies resulting from targeting recovery neurobiology mechanisms including spinal cord interneurons through applying controlled drug release in an experimental SCI model. The findings may provide a novel multimodal approach to investigating and formulating treatment regimens to ultimately achieve neuroprotection for clinical SCI and neurodegenerative diseases.

2022 HPS Workshop: Power Analysis and Power Mapping

Facilitated by Elise Gangley and Dr Juliet Bennett from the Sydney Policy Lab, this 2.5 hour in-person workshop will help you to identify stakeholders, potential allies, and opponents. We will consider where each exists on a continuum of influence over the decisions, and support for your goals. We will then consider who and how you can influence your decisionmaker and identify tangible steps, who will take them, and what will be your follow up.

2022 MHIQ/HPS Seminar - Session 1: Griffith Enterprise (GE) Consultancy and Contractual Research

Mr Aaron Isted's session will focus on generating awareness around 1) the role of Griffith Enterprise (GE), 2) the who, what, where, why and how of Consultancy and Contract Research activity, 3) the internal process, 4) IP and Commercialisation, and 5) how GE can help. It is our hope that individuals will finish the session with a deeper understanding of CCR activity and its importance within the university, combined with a greater awareness of the internal support mechanisms available.
