Far from Kansas: Liam Herne
Far from Kansas is a subversion of suburbia through the lens of digital technology, social media and AI. In this work Herne explores what he often sees as a banal and restrictive environment known for its generic aesthetic appeal. Using various processes and apps, Herne takes his documentation of spaces and interactions and turns them into an uncanny and sometimes humorous reflection on a place where lots of Australians end up residing to get away from urban city centres.
