2021 MHIQ Seminar Series - Writing a successful Medical Research Future Fund Grant

The aim of this session will be to provide an overview of the 20 initiatives under the MRFF themes to be funded over the next 10 years, as well as to discuss the key components of MRFF grants. Since MRFF grant schemes were initiated, Professor Hayes has led 6 grant submissions related to three different projects, and is preparing to lead another submission due in August. Professor Hayes will provide an overview of how she goes about preparing these applications.

Emeritus Professor Wayne Hall's presentation to the Medicine Grand Rounds at GCUH discusses Australia's policy on the medical uses of cannabis: origins and implications. In 2016, Australia legislated to allow the use of unapproved cannabis products and cannabinoids for medical purposes under special access schemes. Em. Prof Hall describes how this policy has come about and discusses some of the issues that Australian Governments have had to wrestle with as a result.
