Professor Stefanie Feih is passionate about combining experimental results and numerical analysis techniques in a synergistic manner to drive advanced design and superior structural performance. In this presentation, she will discuss how X-ray tomography with defect mapping can aid in our understanding and avoidance of defect-sensitive designs and that stochastic information about defect distributions can be derived from X-ray tomography.

Professor Scott Bell presents: A perspective as a clinician, clinician researcher and as a research leader will be provided on what works and what doesn't work in navigating research outcomes. The challenges of accessing health and medical research funding in Queensland will be explored through the lens of a quarter of a century of clinics and ward rounds in Queensland Health.

2021 MHIQ Seminar Series - Developing an Industry Engagement Model
Associate Professor Andrew Bulmer's presentation will outline the development of an industry (encompassing any external entity) engagement research model that also generates income to support independent research activities. Key topics including: defining areas of research capacity (from an industry perspective); how to attract and initiate collaboration with external partners and; how to develop a sustainable partnership/funding model, will be presented.

2021 MHIQ Seminar Series - Writing a successful Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) Grant
Dr Jamie Ranse will provide an overview of the ARC DECRA scheme, the selection process and assessment criteria. Griffith University resources and support that enhanced his ARC DECRA will also be discussed. Throughout this presentation, Dr Ranse will use examples from his ARC DECRA to highlight key aspects of preparing and submitting an application.
