Courting Time
Courting Time explores the slowness of painting: the idea that the time invested by the artist in making a work, and the viewer in experiencing it, becomes implicit in every painting. The marks on a painting's surface record the persistence of the hand of the artist and become a visual representation of time.

Valdetta is an exploration of Perkins' genealogy that applies fiction as a method to autobiographical fact in order to examine the processes of self-narrativisation through a suite of autofictive painted, sculptural, text and video works.
