GovHack Gold Coast

GovHack Gold Coast
GovHack Gold Coast

GovHack is an annual open data competition held across Australia and New Zealand.

Teams work together over 46 hours to explore, mash up, ideate and communicate concepts using open Government data. They will need to create a project page, proof of concept and a video that tells the story of their innovative application of open Government data.

GovHack bringa together developers, data analysist, entrepreneurs, artists, storytellers, engineers, communicators, problem solvers, tech gurus and more to unlock the power of open data. The best teams have a mix of skills including those for story boarding ideas, working with data, building prototypes and creating a video pitch.

In 2017 Gold Coast teams were featured among Queensland's state winners and national finalists.

The Gold Coast is a growing regional centre, and was in the international spotlight having played host to the 2018 Commonwealth Games, bringing disruptive opportunity in the economy and growing infrastructure. There is opportunity to bring innovative improvements through open Government data. With both the City of Gold Coast and Queensland Government committed to open data, innovation, entrepreneurship and digital economies, there is no better time or place to begin the journey into digital disruption and open data hacking.

We can't wait to see you here. (Participants can even participate remotely!)
