The Griffith Asia Institute (GAI) and the Australia Indonesia Business Council (AIBC) are delighted to invite you to a special guests talk by Adjunct Professor Colin Brown, Griffith Asia Institute and Dr Denni Arli, Griffith Business School. Professor Brown will address political aspects of the elections and the significance of the elections for the Australia-Indonesia relationship. Dr Arli will address the economic and business aspects of the elections.

Professor Colin Brown is a member of the Griffith Asia Institute, Griffith University and a Life member of the Australia Indonesia Business Council.

From 2009 - 2013, he was a Professor in the Department of International Relations, Parahyangan Catholic University in Bandung, Indonesia and before that Dean of the Faculty of Media, Society and Culture at Curtin University of Technology in Perth, 2003 - 2008. He has held positions at several other Australian universities, as well as Gadjah Mada University in Jogjakarta, Indonesia.

His primary teaching and research interests are in modern Southeast Asian (and particularly Indonesian) history, politics and economics. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and a PhD in history from the University of Queensland, and is a NAATI-qualified professional level translator and interpreter between the Indonesian and English languages.

Dr Denni Arli is Deputy Head of the Department of Marketing, Griffith Business School and a member of the Griffith Asia Institute, Griffith University.

He received his PhD in Marketing from the School of Marketing, University of New South Wales, following an MA in International Business from St. Mary's University of Minnesota in the UA and a bachelor's degree in architecture from Petra Christian University in Surabaya, Indonesia.

His research focuses on social issues and social changes through multidisciplinary approaches. His particular research interests are corporate social responsibility, social marketing, consumer ethics, and digital marketing.
