This collection of paintings from Jonathan Kopinski seeks to construct part of an ongoing scenography of remembered incidents and narratives that explore the banal and absurd poetics of personal experience.
Ranging from scenes about watching the live stream of political leadership spills, friends returning from failed job interviews to a sunglass-wearing grandmother in an ethnographic museum, the works eschew an overarching conceptual intent, and instead, seek to present sincere descriptions of things or events that shape us in strange and irrational ways.
