This seminar explores the value of arts informed and Indigenous research methodologies (AIIR) for promoting quality and integrity in research processes, practices and products. In this seminar we use the example of a recent Lowitja funded AIIR research project called "Listening to Country' to acoustically, interactively and poetically engage with the audience/viewer about the value of IRM. The Listening to Country project responds to one of the core values underpinning Indigenous Research and the reason Indigenous Research Methodologies have emerged internationally as a research movement - ie to respond to the need for different ways of listening in research and in contexts/texts that have in the past devalued/silenced/misappropriated the knowledges of Indigenous peoples.
