Title: Writing a successful NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence Grant
Seminar Overview -
The Professor Chaboyer will share her experience as CIA in preparing two successful NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) applications. In addition to sharing how the team approached writing the research plan, she will also discuss how the team prepared the research translation and training plans as well as assembling the Chief and associate investigator team.
Speaker Biography -
Professor Wendy Chaboyer focuses her research interests on nurses'contribution to patient safety. This work has been in relation to adverse events, clinical handover, the ICU discharge process and more recently in the areas of patient participation, pressure injury prevention and surgical wounds. Her work in these areas has involved testing complex healthcare interventions. She has over 310 publications and $11 million in research grants. Wendy has supervised to completion 20 PhD students. In 2015 she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International's International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame and in 2017 she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nurses. She is currently the Principal Investigator (CIA) and Director of the National Health and Medical Research Council Centre of Research Excellence in Wiser Wound Care, the second NHMRC CRE she has been awarded as CIA.
