This is a workshop that introduces web scraping, the legal and ethical concerns around web scraping and a practical session using API's and Python packages to scrape web data. T
hrough the session we will demonstrate the best practice for gathering web data using API's and Python packages. We will introduce a set of Python packages commonly used to scrape data from websites for your research. The Python section will assume that you have basic Python knowledge. If you don't, that's ok, it's explained in simple terms. We will then spend about 2 hours at the end of the session to work with you on your web scraping project
