Event Overview:

Practical ways to embed emotional intelligence and social emotional learning into schools.

In this workshop, participants will learn the Decida Emotion Intensity Scale, how to use language to help students better control their emotions, how new digital tools can empower teacher-student rapport, and explore practical tools that helps empathy based leadership in the classroom.

What you will learn:

In this workshop, you will explore ways to leverage language and real-time mental health data to empower the teacher-student dynamic, and path students to psychological switches that increase individual social and emotional intelligence.

Participants will be trained in the Decida Emotional Intensity Scale, designed by Australian psychologist and presenter Phil Slade. This workshop is designed for anyone looking to easily integrate more social emotional learning into the classroom.

Outcomes:

• Know how to dial emotional intensity up and down simply and with empathy.

• Understand how real-time data, emotional intelligence, and simple psychological switches can positively impact mental health and wellbeing.

• Identify ways to use data to monitor and manage student mental health and wellbeing.

About the Presenter:

Phil Slade: Behavioural economist, psychologist, award-winning musician, author of best selling books such as "Going Ape S#!t", Podcast host of The Turnaround Mindset and co-founder of Behavioural change and mental health company Decida, Phil has a driving belief that we can solve most of the social, environmental, economic and political problems around the globe if we all become slightly better decision makers.
