Celebrating the opening of three new exhibitions by current Queensland College of Art and Design, Griffith University students and alumni.

Grey Street Gallery | Notes: Branka Sinobad

Notes is an evocative exploration of the intricate layers of human experience, delving into both personal and collective memory. The exhibition brings together a body of works that employ a cross disciplinary approach between painting and drawing, using erasure and chance as both a technique and a metaphor to explore the dynamic interplay between randomness and action on memory.

Curated by Annie O'Rourke.

Webb Gallery | BMG Finalists Prize: This Art Prize will be awarded to the best portraiture artwork exploring the theme "Pro bono publico" which is usually shortened to "pro bono". This Latin phrase refers to work undertaken voluntarily and without payment. Students are invited to submit a two dimensional work in any medium connecting with someone who has conducted work without the requirement of payment. Essentially, people giving back. This could take in the housing crisis, the domestic violence crisis, the cost of living crisis, the rule of law crisis, the medical crisis, and other areas of work.

Project Gallery | Recollect: The See Saw Collective

The SSC is a group of artists who graduated from Griffith University around 10 years ago. They have retained a strong and resilient bond to their art practice and to each other.

Featuring: Cholena Drew Hughes, Lauren Edmonds, Domenica Hoare, Marta Larzabal, Ally McKay, Tess Mehonoshen, Lucy Rebekah, Jo Rees-Jones, Maikki Toivanen
