Ata, a registered landscape architect and academic, explores the relationships between people, culture, and the land. His art aims to make the hidden stories of landscapes visible-stories shaped by geography, history, and culture - while acknowledging the urgent challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss.
Using geospatial mapping and design tools, Ata translates technical data into visual forms, offering new perspectives on environmental and cultural connections. His work, inspired by his Iranian heritage, incorporates vibrant colors, resin, and laser cutting to reveal the intricate ties between place and identity.
Ata says: "Geoart is a way to bridge technical knowledge with emotional depth, encouraging dialogue on how we, as humans, relate to the land and the impacts we have on it. My goal is to promote greater understanding and collaboration in response to global environmental issues, transforming landscapes into powerful stories that resonate culturally and ecologically.
