Yoke is a group exhibition from Celise Gibson, Shari O'Dwyer, Caroline Gasteen that explores concepts of control and freedom through the lenses of motherhood, temporality and heritage. The messy edges of motherhood have shaped the ways that these artist make work; time has never been so precious, a scarce resource in the chaos of raising a young a family.
The idea for this exhibition came from the artists debriefing about time and how they sustain an art practice despite its scarcity.
