Made as a response to the challenges of the lived-experience of pseudo-hallucinations, this exhibition seeks to highlight Charles Bonnet Syndrome (CBS). CBS gives rise to a fascinating world where the realm of image crosses over into the realm of perception. Resulting purely from a loss of sight, CBS visions fill in the void left by the absence of image. Thirteen worldwide participants co-created the series of works including videos, images, and sculptures.
The collaborative nature of the project ensured straightforward representations without sensationalism - just factual interpretations of participants' experiences. These sublime hallucinations can be breathtakingly beautiful or terrifyingly real.
