This Online Learning Experience explores the principles of good assessment-for-learning that underpin an effective course assessment plan that aligns to the intended course learning outcomes.
Overview
As a Course Convenor you are responsible for the quality of student learning in your course. Once you have designed the course learning outcomes, a coherent and developmentally-oriented course assessment plan can be designed to align with these outcomes in order to scaffold student learning and development through the course.
This plan describes a sequence of assessment tasks that will enable students to provide evidence of their learning and also enable students and teaching staff to make judgments about students' learning and achievement against pre-determined assessment criteria.
Learning Outcomes
- Identify which assessment types should be used for each form of assessment
- Review and critique your current assessment design
- Apply the Principles of Good Assessment to inform the design of your Course Assessment Summary

- Design/re-design your Course Assessment Plan
- Build your Course Assessment Plan Sequence
- Gain a better understanding of the Course Profile approval process
