VoiceThread is a tool for enhancing student engagement. Lecturers or students can create, share, and comment on images, PowerPoint presentations, videos, audio files, documents, and PDFs, using microphone, webcam, text, phone, and audio file uploads.
Those in multi-sensory environments always do better than those in unisensory environments. They have more recall with better resolution that lasts longer, evident even 20 years later.
John Medina, author Brain Rules
VoiceThread provides a platform for creating resources with the potential to meet Medina's finding. In addition, it provides an avenue for online interaction where students can present and defend their work before their peers and instructor.

USING VOICETHREAD FOR ASSESSMENT PURPOSES?
New Voicethread Assignments enhancements were released 23rd Nov, 2020. To see these enhancements visit the VoiceThread 'New Assignments' guide.
VT does not integrate with Academic Integrity Systems or RubricsWorkaround in placeSome Academics are doing rubric work using other cloud-based applications such as Microsoft excel/word etc. and providing a link to that students rubric as part of a ‘text comment’ in VoiceThread.
VoiceThread is a communication and collaboration tool at heart, this means all activities are covered by the Social Media Guidelines, a part of the Griffith University Code of Conduct, and online etiquette is paramount.
