The Young Artists Mentoring Program is an initiative of Youth Arts Queensland
Fine Art Honours graduates Zoe Porter and Jonathan McBurnie have received Young Artists Mentoring Program grants.
Jonathan, who graduated lin 2007 with First Class Honours, received the mentorship award to work with Brisbane based artist Rod Bunter.

Zoe graduated in 2005 with First Class Honours and will work with Brisbane artist Ian Friend.

They each receive $4000, and the mentor artist receives $1000.
About the program:
The Young Artists Mentoring Program (YAMP) is an initiative of Youth Arts Queensland and endeavours to connect a creative young person, practising their art, with a more experienced person who works in the same environment or knows a lot about it. The young artist or arts worker is assisted by the more experienced one. They usually live in the same region of Queensland, and try to meet, or communicate about their creative work in some way, every couple of weeks. Mentoring is a partnership where both the mentor and mentoree can benefit from sharing knowledge, industry networks, ideas and experience.
