Newest wave of local talent on show

Emerging musicians from across South East Queensland will take to the stage at the Suncorp Piazza, South Bank, tomorrow Saturday June 30 for a free public concert.

Presented by the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and supported by Triple J, SEED will feature 20 popular music artists across a three hour performance.

Key artists include: The Phoncurves, Josh Lovegrove, Kid Marvel, Caligula’s Horse and the william moon book society.

The event will providea great opportunity for local audiences to sample the next crop of the country’s best musicians.

The concert will feature original music from independent artists who are just at the start of very promising careers within the Australian industry.

Griffith’s Bachelor of Popular Music students are already forging ahead in the industry, with many touring the country regularly and releasing debut EPs.

The event will include pop, rock, R’n’b, folk, hip hop and everything in between.

Sarah Howells from Triple J will MC the concert and audiences will be able to download their favourite tracks from the day online via TuneCore.

Previous graduates from the Queensland Conservatorium’s Bachelor of Popular Music program have gone on to join the likes of Wolfmother, the Delta Riggs and the John Steele Singers.
