Walking the talk for Reconciliation

Griffith University is marking National Reconciliation Week with a program of events across all five campuses.

It was a sea of orange hats yesterday morning as Griffith staff, students and community members, took part in the annual Walk and Talk in acknowledgement of National Reconciliation Week.

Organised by the GUMURRII Student Support Unit, the walk began at the Smith Street Bridge at 11.00am and finished outside the Library on the Gold Coast campus, followed by a morning tea.

National Reconciliation Week is an Australia-wide observance held each year. This gives people the chance to come together and share the steps towards healing for the Stolen Generations, their families and communities.

Vice Chancellor Professor Ian O’Connor said he was delighted at the increase in numbers seen at this year’s event.
