Griffith’s School of Information and Communication Technology has taken out the number one spot in Australia for student satisfaction.
The results come from the annual Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ), which sees all graduates from Australian universities surveyed about their experiences during their time at university.
Head of the School of ICT, Professor Michael Blumenstein, said he was humbled to know that past students held such high opinions about their time in the School.
“The School is absolutely elated with this result and the fact the students’ level of satisfaction was so great as to bring us to the position of number one in Australia is very pleasing,” he said.
“We are proud of the achievements of our graduates and we are confident that they have the necessary skills post-graduation to make great careers for themselves in the IT industry.”
This top ranking for student satisfaction in Australia is up from 35th place in the CEQ in 2014.
Griffith Sciences Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Debra Henly said to be able to turn the results around so quickly was the result of hard work and determination from all staff.
“It has been the result of an enormous amount of work that has been undertaken across all aspects of learning and teaching,” she said.
“This is an absolutely outstanding result and I congratulate the School of ICT and its staff.”
Professor Blumenstein said the School took student and industry feedback very seriously. He added the School would continue to look for ways to connect with past students so they can convey their success to current students and provide them with the encouragement to get the best out of their studies and their Griffith ICT degrees.
