Griffith human resource (HR) and leadership experts Professor Adrian Wilkinson and Dr Jeanne McConachie are among prominent international speakers at this year’s Philippine national HR Symposium held in Cebu City, from 27-29 May.

Sponsored by the Australian Government through the Philippines-Australia Human Resource and Organisational Development Facility (PAHRODF), the event has attracted 2,000 HR practitioners nationwide from the public and private sectors to learn best practices in developing and managing the country’s workforce.

Themed “Transformations through Leadership Development,”the symposium aims to highlight the role of leaders in inspiring transformation among individuals which, collectively, results in transformation in organisations and communities.

Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Bill Twedell opened the symposium and reinforced Australia’s strong commitment to the bilateral relationship in promoting prosperity through education and good governance.

The HR Symposium, now in its third year, is the flagship professional development event for human resource practitioners in the country.

Griffith University is one of only two Australian universities featured at the symposium, given its strong record of graduating Philippine HR practitioners at Masters level through the Australia Awards Fellowships.
