New opportunities for students from Guangxi

On Thursday 17 December, Professor Ian O’Connor, Vice Chancellor and Professor Sarah Todd, Pro Vice Chancellor (International), hosted a meeting led by Professor Hong Liang, President of Guangxi Normal University.

The delegation visited Griffith to sign a memorandum of understanding and discuss potential new opportunities for joint programs and articulations. It is expected that students from Guangxi Normal University will begin to visit Griffith on short-term study programs in Environmental Science and Electronic Engineering from 2016.

Guangxi Normal University has a long history of international exchange and cooperation; it is the only university in Guangxi approved by China’s Ministry of Education to be a Demonstration Base for foreigners studying in China.

Located in Guilin, the university has over 28,000 students and three campuses which are home to twenty-one colleges covering a variety of academic disciplines.
