Jaw-dropping presentations are onoffer at our campuses and at venues throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Saturday, August 11
- Visit our researchers from the Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery (GRIDD) forinteractive activitiesandforyoung scientists and tech-heads of all ages at theBrisbane Science Festival, held at Southbank’s Suncorp Piazza.
- Take to the skies to learn the science, engineering and technology behind aviation and making planes fly, atGriffith’s Aviation Workshop, held atNerangLibrary.
- Astrophysicist Dr Jessie Christiansen has been called the “Tomb Raider of exoplanet research”. A graduate of Griffith University, she now works at the NASA Exoplanet Science Institute at Caltech. Jessie searches for, studies, and catalogues extrasolar planets — planets orbiting other stars. Join her atSouthbank’s The Shipinnto hear more about her amazing career.

- Education Queensland and Griffith University will host the fourth Gold Coast SchoolsPop-up Science Centre, showcasing science in the South East Region atNighquarterHelensvale.

- TheQueenlandMuseum entry will play host to Griffith’s Red ZoneInA Box, which will feature drop-in science demos, thelaunch of the Hatchery Crusaders program and turtle activity, and early learning activities including a marble wall, robotic Bee-Bots and making music with Makey-Makey.
