Transparency International Cambodia founder to present at Griffith public lecture

Mr Kol Preap, founder and executive director of Transparency International Cambodia

The founder and executive director of Transparency International Cambodia, Mr Kol Preap, has been announced as the new guest speaker at Griffith University’s public lecture on integrity and corruption this week.

Mr Preap is stepping in to replace the event’s previously announced speaker, and the chair of Transparency International, Dr Delia Ferreira Rubio, who is regrettably no longer able to attend.

Mr Preap boasts a wealth of experience working with international and inter-governmental organisations, having spent nearly two decades working across fields including integrated community development, advocacy, democratic development, governance and anti-corruption.

A seasoned public speaker, he has presented at events around the world and — in addition to his role with TI Cambodia — has been the Ambassador for Peace for the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) since 2010.

As well as his voluminous experience, Mr Preap brings with him a raft of qualifications from international universities from Spain and Cambodia to Australia, the US and the UK. This lecture provides a rare opportunity to hear his unique perspective on the issues facing the fields of integrity and anti-corruption over the next decade and beyond.

Integrity and corruption in 2030: What does the future hold? will be held this Friday, 5 April, at the Griffith Graduate Centre, at South Bank campus.

It will feature appearances from some of Queensland and the Asia-Pacific’s foremost thought leaders in the field of governance and anti-corruption, including University of Queensland lecturer Dr Radha Ivory and Griffith experts Professor Adam Graycar and Professor A J Brown.

The event, which is sponsored by Griffith University’s newGraduate Certificate in Integrity and Anti-corruption, will begin at 12pm, and run for an hour, with a four-hour workshop to follow from 2pm.
