Photography lecturer recognised for work in Cambodia

For Griffith students studying abroad, the destination isn't a place, but a new way of seeing things. One of the university's most successful short-term mobility programs is the annual photography in-field trip to Cambodia, where students spend time on assignment with local NGOs to capture the country's untold stories. Queensland College of Art Photography Program Director Dr Heather Faulkner has been recognised with a Griffith Internationalisation Award for her leadership of the program over the past eight years.

Griffith photography students to exhibit at GC2018

Photography students from the Queensland College of Art have been invited to exhibit their work at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018). A series of large scale images will be on display at the GC2018 Main Media Centre- a purpose-built hub in Broadbeach that will host press representatives from around the globe, providing a backdrop for live crosses and interviews during the Games.

Griffith photography, film and journalism students recently travelled to Cambodia for a three-week study tour, revealing some of the country's untold stories. The tour involved masterclasses and workshops, followed by an intensive storytelling project which gave students the opportunity to work in the local community with a team of international mentors.
