GIER TWILIGHT LECTURE SERIES - Refugee Resilience :  drama for hope and belonging

Members of GIER's REACT team (Research into Educational, Applied and Contemporary Theatre) have been working to support refugee resettlement since 2007. They have engaged in participatory drama projects in Logan and Brisbane with adults and young people from a diverse range of countries. This presentation will mention some of the earlier drama work conducted by the team and then focus on a participatory drama project with a group of year 11 and 12 students with refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds. Discussion re importance of hope, belonging and connectedness before describing the participatory drama work in more detail.
