Griffith Asia Institute Research Seminar | Research@GAI: Triumphs, Trends, Troubles, and Tasks

Principal speaker

Professor Ian Hall, Deputy Director (Research), Griffith Asia Institute, Griffith University

This seminar will step back from the normal round of presentations and look at what GAI has done, is going, and might do in research. It will provide an analysis of GAI's recent performance, in terms of publications, grants, and PhD students, in the context of the University's broader research aims. It will also lay out what GAI is doing now to try to support our members and HDR students, providing details of the various schemes that we have in place, and are introducing, and how to apply for funds and assistance. And it will explore what GAI needs to do next in order to advance the excellent work we do, and meet both university and wider expectations for the Institute.

Ian Hall is a Professor in International Relations and the Deputy Director (Research) of the Griffith Asia Institute. He is also the co-editor (with Sara E. Davies) of the Australian Journal of International Affairs and an Academic Fellow of the Australia India Institute. His book, Modi and the Reinvention of Indian Foreign Policy, will be out later in 2019.
