This seminar will focus on semi-structured or in-depth, qualitative interviewing. We will discuss the strengths and limitations of the method as well as strategies for mitigating limitations. Practical steps for eliciting rich and deep data through preparing quality interview protocols/schedule, probing and careful listening will be covered. The final part of the seminar will provide guidance on writing up the methodological procedures of an interview study for a thesis chapter and/or an academic publication.Event categories
