Building a Heat Resilient Queensland

Join the Queensland Heat Health Community of Practice (QHHCoP) online or in person at Griffith's Southbank Campus for our June event, "Building a Heat Resilient Queensland".

As the QHHCoP continues to grow, and temperatures continue to rise, we believe it's more important than ever to come together and discuss strategies for building resilient communities in the face of extreme heat events.

This hybrid event will feature a discussion with experts in the field who will share their insights on the latest research and practical strategies for reducing heat-related harm in our communities. By attending, you'll have the opportunity to connect with other professionals who are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders, and to contribute your own ideas and experiences to the conversation.

For catering purposes, if you are planning on attending in person, please register before Tuesday 13th June 2023.

Our speakers:

Brendan Mackey, Griffith University Climate Action Beacon
Ian Thompson, Acting/Inspector-General of Emergency Management

Liza Neil, Moreton Bay Regional Council Principal Architect

Mark Stephens, Stockland Senior Environment and Community Development Manager

Joel Dignam, Executive Director, Better Renting
