In celebration of one year since the release of The Alexander Ball Documentary, celebrate the Meanjin (Brisbane) Ballroom scene and culture with a free public screening of The Alexander Ball documentary at Chantal Fraser's "The Ascended' exhibition at Griffith University Art Museum, followed by a night of performance, music, food and conversation with House of Alexander mother Ella Ganza, documentary director Jessica Magro and artist Chantal Fraser.

Chantal Fraser's "The Ascended' reflects the experiences of her Samoan heritage and community. The exhibition explores themes of ritual, adornment, feminism, anti-colonialism and class-based discrimination.

About Ella Ganza: Ella Ganza, Mother of The House of Alexander, is a Samoan performer, creative, community leader and advocate of (trans)gender rights and equity.

About Jessica Magro: Jessica Magro is a Samoan-Maltese-Australian Producer and Director based in Meanjin (Brisbane). In 2021 she was named a SPA 'Ones to Watch' Producer and was awarded the annual Screen Australia internship. Jessica began her journey working in documentary 8 years ago specialising in arts and natural history series for networks including ABC, SBS, National Geographic and Discovery. She now produces independent content in both scripted and unscripted formats featuring Australian stories for the world with a strong focus on increasing representation for her Pasifika community.

About House of Alexander: In the name of Alexander the Great, House of Alexander is Meanjin's (Brisbane) pioneering ballroom house, founded in 2019 by Ella Ganza (Mother of the House of Alexander) together with Joshua Taliani (Father of the House of Alexander)
