One of the biggest challenges facing insurance affordability is the increasing frequency and impact of severe weather events that present a real challenge for communities, governments and the insurance industry right across the country.

Home insurance is critical in protecting Australians and insurance affordability has never been more important. Governments are focused on reducing and mitigating the risk of damage and destruction these events bring which then puts downward pressure on premiums. Insurers are using big data and investing in AI to help improve affordability and disaster management responses.

Bringing data together from both the private and public sectors can help to address these issues, and universities can have a key role to play. With access to globally respected researchers in disaster resilience and recovery, policy formation, and research, universities can leverage their expertise to derive further insights from datasets and utilise AI technologies to test solutions.

Join us online to hear our panel of industry experts and academic researchers discuss the opportunity that public-private data collaboratives, utilising AI and Big Data could bring to the insurance sector.
