Police Science Dr - Investigative Interviewing of Children (6MODPSD)

The Investigative Interviewing of Children course(6MODPSD) is a highly interactive 6-module training course which focuses on the ‘how to’ of interviewing children and other vulnerable witnesses for workplace investigation purposes.
The course focuses on the questioning strategies needed to: build rapport and encourage disclosures, keep the child talking (and steer them to crucial details), minimise error (arising from suggestibility) and minimise secondary trauma associated with the interview process itself.
The course is highly practical and interactive in nature, including a child avatar, professional films with quizzes and practical sessions held over the phone or videoconference with a certificate provided on completion.
The course duration is approximately 20-30 hours in total, and all activities are delivered in the online learning environment. Learning is self-paced, which means participants can enrol at any time and progress through the modules at individuals their own pace.
Individual enrolment grants access to the course for 6-months (from enrolment date).
