School of Dentistry and Oral Health (Griffith University) and the Australian Dental Association – Queensland (ADAQ) – The Therapeutic uses of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers in general dental practice. 10 Hours of Continuing professional development hours will be awarded. Please note that this course is only open to Registered Dentists.
This course will be focusing on dental practitioners who are interested in the therapeutic uses of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers general dental practice. The course will include an anatomical study of all muscles, arteries, veins and nerves. It will also include presentations about injection techniques and how to deal with complications should they arise. Furthermore, it will guide participants on how to include facial injectables within their scope of practice as dental practitioners.
The course will be in the form of didactic lectures in the first day, followed by a quiz about head and neck anatomy, pitfalls and complications. The second day is a practical day involving demonstrations of different injection techniques by trainers on silicone manikins that are designed and manufactured specifically for the purpose skin injections.
