CyBOK: Empowering the Cybersecurity Community Seminar

CyBOK: Empowering the Cybersecurity Community Seminar

Principal speaker

Professor Andrew Martin

The CyBOK initiative is developing substantial internationally-sourced resources, serving as a cornerstone for codifying and disseminating established knowledge in the field.

In this talk we will describe the journey which has led to the present 21 Knowledge Areas, and the ongoing evolution of CyBOK with a commitment to openness, excellence, and authoritative materials.

The 1000+ pages of CyBOK are available online at www.cybok.org, together with a growing body of additional resources: some designed by and for educators, others to help map courses, curricula, and training packages onto the CyBOK knowledge areas.

CyBOK has been used for course design and certification, to support codification of professional career pathways, to facilitate easy visual comparison of different curricula and certifications, and is presently supporting a range of other educational and career resources. Plans are in place to ensure that CyBOK is periodically updated and retains its comprehensive coverage of the field.
