Description
This resource describes the development of online experiences that enables students to engage cognitively with relevant and meaningful content while providing opportunities for interaction that promotes learning.
Overview
Online spaces can be learning places. Student experiences in these spaces influence their motivation, effectiveness, and willingness to learn. Online spaces become effective learning places when the experience goes beyond a physical environment that contains information and resources to a place where participants construct meaning and develop productive associations.
Creating online learning places that enable student learning requires the development of an experience that enables students to engage cognitively with relevant and meaningful content while providing opportunities for interaction that promotes learning.
