Description

Monitoring and evaluation of your course influences the learning and experience of both student and teaching team members.

This resource can be used as a starting point for your course evaluation.

Overview

Formative monitoring and evaluation processes and practices in your course influence the learning and experience of both student and teaching team members.

Ideally, the teaching team regularly monitors both the course and teaching team effectiveness using a range of data sources to inform their evaluations, including student feedback.

The teaching team reflects on the evaluation with insights gained being used to inform plans for course enhancement that promote student learning, as well as for enhancing teaching team practices.

Learning Outcomes

  • Recall formative processes that can be used by the teaching team to monitor and enhance course and teaching team effectiveness
  • Apply formative monitoring and evaluation practices as part of an action learning cycle to enhance course and teaching team effectiveness

Follow Up Activities

  • Facilitate a collegial conversation with your teaching team about using formative process for monitoring student learning and engagement, the enhancement of your course and teaching team practices
  • Using the information gathered from the first phase of your action research cycle, design in collaboration with your teaching team, a revised plan for your second action research cycle
